Hi all

We currently use "Remote Desktop" on an xp Pro laptop to administer an XP Pro desktop,

what i would like to be able to do is to also remotely administer a windows 2K machine using the xp pro laptop, how would i do this

I can only seem to find articles on remote admin for 2000 server not 2000 professional

Any help would be appreciated

edit - I need complete control of the machine as in able to check emails and run programs

All machines are running on the same network, if that helps

You could try Ultravnc, Logmein looks like its free, Realvnc, I think is also free.

Ultra and Realvnc look pretty complicated to configure.

MS have a remote desktop update for other versions of Windows, but only if it's the client, not the host. Or is it the other way round?

Any other version besides XP Pro or maybe any other versions above may support RD. But 2000 isn't one of them.

If the machines are all on the same network I would use UltraVNC.
LogMeIn is for remote access of a machine over the internet so using it would probably work but it would be slow.
