Hi guys,

Is it possible to play playstation games on your PC using the same disc?

Just by chance I came across an article that said download this and that and you can play ps2 discs on your PC.(I think you had to pay, but I thought no way).

Is this full of crap or can you actrually do it?

Not sure about PS2, but I remember trying out Virtual Game Station (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_Game_Station) many years ago and PS1 games ran ok on it (it was made by Connectix, the same people who created VirtualPC). It has been discontinued now though.

ePSXe is the best PS1 emulator. You can use the original discs with that.

As far as I know, PS2 emulation is not very goopd yet.

Never tried but if you have no TV and you have a PS2 or some other fancy ones like Xbox or what ... maybe a video capture card works?

I take it only ps1 games are go, no ps2?

Thanks for the tips.

PS1 emulation is very good. (http://epsxe.com/news.php) but you do need the BIOS files for it to run.

PS2 is still undeveloped. Few games are playable, but if you want to have a look at a couple of emulators anyway, the "best" ones are here (http://www.ps2-emulator.com) and here (http://www.pcsx2.net).

Give it about a year and a bit I'd say...

i used that way back, gran turismo ftw!

i think its just like mounting an image in daemon tools etc? it was always ridiculously fast for me though, almost like my computer processed the game to quick for itself

Once you have ePSXe, you need a playstation BIOS. The help file in ePSXe should have the filename of the BIOS you need, and you can do a google search to find and download it.

You also need a graphics plugin (I can't remember whether the latest version of ePSXe includes one or not).

Go here (http://www.pbernert.com/index.htm) for a whole lot of plugins for ePSXe.
