Help Please....When purchasing a ADSL Modem should I try and future proof and what is the best type to buy? I am a home user.

Many ISP's give free modems, don't they?

Yes that is correct but I dont wish to go on contact so I am buying my own Modem

Get one that is ADSL2+ ready.

I agree. Get one that supports future Internet connections. You may consider one that supports WLAN as well if you want to get rid of cables.

You could get a basic internal (PCI) one, brand new for about 30 bucks. Then if you want/need to upgrade later your outlay would've been minimal. You also get the advantage of super-simplistic setup and on/off connecting.
