A multifunction printer might not deliver all its functions, and its management software might not work properly when it is used as a network printer. The results of this Google (www.google.co.nz/search?hl=en&q=hp+psc+2410+network&meta=) search might be worth looking at.

Get a HP Jet Direct. That will allow you to use the printer on a network. ie plug the ethernet into the Jet Direct and your PC Network card and the parallel cable from the Jet to the Printer. About $80 - $90 second hand (Core Technologies have them)
