Has anyone used this software on a Laptop?
The spec's for it reccomend having at least a Creative Sound Blaster card.
We are looking at setting it up on a new HP Presario (not purchased yet)
Spoke to HP and he couldn't say it would work, not very confident....
It should work in theory but want to hear from anyone else who's tried it.

thanks for feedback

We are upgrading to 9. Fairly resource hungry as you know. I ran 5 on my laptop ok but didn't persevere with it. My business partner has been using Dragon for 3 - 4 years now very successfully on a desktop. Does all letters, documents, even emails I think.

The guy has been using another version for a while I think, he can't write or something so good for him. He has it installed on his PC and works ok, just wanted to make sure version 9 would work on a laptop as he dosn't want to spend to much on the Laptop.

It will have the same requirements as for a desktop (check the box) but you should also be aware that CPU scaling may cause problems. Some CPUs have the ability to reduce their speed to save power while unplugged. I believe most of the AMD ones can do this. If this guy has problems using the software when the laptop isn't plugged in it might be best to disable this feature through the BIOS.

As far as sound goes, I really don't know.

I will keep that in mind as well although had thought of that.
It is more the sound thing that worries me although I am sure it will be fine. :)
