Hey guys,
Just bought a new 4200+ (yay) and need some help installing the fan (AM2). For those that have done it before, I'm having trouble moving the little arm thingy into the position it says on the diagram/manual. Why is this happening, I don't want to apply tooooo much force incase Bad Things happen.

Any ideas?

Cheers

I hook the side over the clip first, then the lever side, then push the lever down, you can use a reasonable amount of force, its supposed to be tight.
The CPU has a diagram with it that shows you how.

Cool, thanks, just did that.

Haha, I get a bit nervous about forcing things that have come from 25 hours of slave labour.

Yes, so did I when I built my machine, but a friend said they are designed like that... so trusing him I forced... and it went on :D

Ooh, those old AM2 clips and the socket 939 ones are a pain in the arse.

Just wait till the plastic lever breaks in those and then, your gonna regret it.
