I have this virus in my system32 folder. AVG detects it but cant remove it as it says access is denied. I cant remove it from Hi Jack this, i tick the box to remove it and do another scan and it has reappeared. I have tried xoft spy and this didn't get it either. I have searched all winf44.dll using regedit and deleted them, but i still have the virus. All of this in safe mode with restore turned off. Any ideas??

Try running AVG in safe mode. It may be able to delete it then.

It is a nasty password stealing virus according to my Google search.

See if this (http://www.simplysup.com/) removes it.

Its a phishing trojan, by the looks of it, so dont bank online!

cheers for the help guys. I was running AVG in safe mode but it still didn't work :yuck: I downloaded a programme called Haxfix (http://users.telenet.be/marcvn/tools/haxfix.exe) which got rid of it
Must say it was prob. the most stubborn virus i have dealt with
