G'day out there,
is there any way that I can get rid of the stupid "user log on screen " ?I am the only person who uses my PC and I don't want to enter a password or log on as a user.

Logon - No Password

1. At a command prompt, type "control userpasswords2" and press Enter to open the Windows 2000-style User Accounts
application.

2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To Use This Computer check box and then
click OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name and password for the account you want to be
logged on each time you start your computer.

Which operating system?

There are a number of ways to do this.

I am not sure about other OSes, but Tweak UI (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx) and Win XP, has a setting to automatically log on when the PC starts and still keeps the password... It is great, and so many options to get rid of 'annoyances'

Thanks folks,
After managing to lock myself out of my computer without a password I think I have it sorted now.Cheers
