some times when i was on the internet, my computer suddenly appeared to have some strange problems: the mouse started to stop working, especially the right button, then the web couldn't be open or open with some missing toolbars, and sometime the folders on my computer couldn't be open neither. even one time there was an error on Norton Auto-protect.
But there were no virus or spyware founded afterwards.
And after i restarted the computer, everything is fine again.
i don't know what triggered this problem, it has been 3 times. so annoying.
Please, anybody know anything about this problem, HELP.

What Operating System are you running? If XP, is it installed with Service Pack 2 (SP2)? Have you tried using another mouse on the same computer to determine where the fault lies? It would be good if you can post us a HijackThis log.

Cheers :)

Hello Kale, I see that you are having some complications over comprehending SP2 and HJT. If you care to visit the Wikipedia website on SP2:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_XP#Service_Pack_2

It roughly gives you an idea what it is all about.

Service Pack 2 (SP2) was released on August 6, 2004 after several delays, with a special emphasis on security. Unlike previous service packs, SP2 adds new functionality to Windows XP, including an enhanced firewall, improved Wi-Fi support with a wizard utility, a pop-up ad blocker for Internet Explorer, and Bluetooth support.

As for HJT, it is short for "HijackThis Log". When you run an analysis of your computer via HJT, it will give you the list of running processes. If you paste the log onto this thread, the rest of the members would be able to analyse it for you and telling you what's wrong with your computer and what needs to be fixed. The application can be obtained from Merijin website, which is -> http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip

For a more detailed explanation of "HijackThis", do pay a visit to Wikipedia to find out more information about it. -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HijackThis

What Operating System are you running, incidentally?

Where are the other PressF1 members, by the way? I can't handle this alone! :(

Cheers :)
