Hey. I have a LGA 775 3.0 Prescott and need advice on a good mobo option. This is my first 775 system I'm building and I have no idea about what model mobos are decent.

I will definitely be sticking with Asus, but compared to the skt 478 mobos where you were limited to a few solid/robust choices (and some that weren't so solid), the range of LGA based mobo's seems to be limitless. They all seem to offer slightly different options and I cant seem to draw any concret conclusions from the reviews I have read.

The system will be used for general home use as well as running applications such as 3dsmax, Photoshop, Cubase SX, Sound Forge etc etc. Needless to say it isnt going to be an optimal setup, just something that will do the job with minimal of fuss.

I have $100 - $180 to spend. Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

*big thanks goes out to pc_tek who over the last 6 months has always offered sound advice :)*

Here's a few ASUS mobos (http://www.edencomputers.co.nz/c.aspx?r=38903.8352973264&c=Hardware&s=Motherboards&ss=Intel+LGA775)

There's only a few that you'll get for under $180.
