View Full Version : How do I accent an e?

I'm writing a letter in Word Perfect and would like to properly spell a name with an accent over the letter e. I know it's possible but I don't know how to use the various "foreign" letters. Can anyone help?

If u use XP, go to accessories / system tools / character map.

Pick what you want here.

There are "ALT" codes too.

Try this:

Make sure your NUM LOCK light is on over the 10-pad.

Holding the "ALT" key down, then enter 0233 with the 10-pad, and release the "ALT" key. Your accented "e" should appear in your document.

The actual instruction looks like this: (ALT+0233)

I for some reason cannot use "ALT" keys on this site, although others can or cannot. It seems to be vague as to whom it allows to use them.

You can insert these "ALT" codes into most any document generated by you on the puter though.
