View Full Version : Volume Leveling

I have a folder of WMA files which I will be playing at a function. However, the person who gave them to me has obtained them from various CDs, and hence they vary in volume quite a bit.

About 2 years ago I found a program that would normalise all the files in a given folder so that they would appear to be of the same volume level when played - ie. same "loudness" for lack of a better word. It was freeware, and I can't for the life of me remember what the program was called, or where I downloaded it from.

Does anyone know of any similar (free) program which can do what I want?

Cant help you with that freebee program, but Nero 6 has that capability - leveling audio.

Hi

Don't know if it is what you are after but you could look at this:

yupyup used mp3gain before as well..works great
but nero..nero 6 when i used it once..it gave me tracks that produced clipping noises
so ..might need to look at settings carefully before burning

a friend told me to try cool edit pro..which is now adobe audition
..works fine..but overkill
