Get the file in my signature below. And post the log here.

How did you format it?

Did u do a clean install, or install over the previous version of Windows?

ok here is the hijack this log.
in answer to ur questions.
i did a full format and new install by using the windows xp disk ie deleting the partition and installing windows etc.
please remember tho that the shutting down does only occur when in the runescape game

Hmm yup the log looks fine to me.

Altho, u can run hijackthis again, tick these entries and tick fix checked.
(close browser/s).

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\jusched.exe

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MSMSGS] "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background

Look in control panel / admin tools / event viewer. Under the applications, or system entry on the left here.

See whats it says here or see if it shows an X or similar. Tell us what it says.

Have u updated Runescape?? Are there any patches out for it?

I would also press the windows key and pause on the keybooard to bring up the system properties / advanced tab / settings button. Untick automatically restart.
