View Full Version : Port Forwarding not working, argh!

I'm following these steps (http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/DSL-502T/Remote_Desktop.htm) on portforward.com to forward ports on my DSL-502t

All is well for the first "rule" (TCP), i hit apply and fine.
I go on to the next rule which is UDP, put in the port start "3389" port map "3389" and port end "3389" just like it says, then I get a javascript popup saying "The assigned port range is overlapped."

I don't know what to do. It's doing the same for trying to setup Shoutcast port forwarding (port 8000-8001)..

May work;

Set up TCP then reboot the router
Setup the UDP then reboot the router

It may be having issues doing both at the same time, you may have different firmware to the demo, do you have the option for TCP/UDP.

Or if that fails just forward TCP the test you may find it will work, you could also test just UDP, then pick the better performing.

I take you're trying to port forward 3389 for Remote Desktop? If so it doesn't need UDP. TCP only should work fine.
