I copied the VIDEO_TS file from a movie dvd to my hard drive as back up.

And now i have a whole lot of .vob files.

I know that simply changing the .vob to .mpg will let me play the files but I dont know which ones come first.

the files range in different sizes and stuff, how do i put them in order.

thank you

Most Software DVD players (e.g. PowerDVD or VideoLAN Client), will let you select a directory to play (and behave exactly like a DVD disc).

However, commerical DVD discs are encrypted and I'll end the discussion here.

I thought it is piracy if DVD videos are copied onto another material or computer etc.?

Cheers :)

As mentioned before play them with your DVD program. I use DVD shrink to put DVDs on my laptop when intending to watch at some time later, it saves lugging around DVDs with me and uses less battery power not spinning up the drive. I then open the folder with the Intervideo Win DVD on my laptop.

Wouldn't it be pirating if you copied the file to another DVD, and yell YARRRRR at the same time, ratherthan just saving it to watch later?
