View Full Version : Dynalink RTA230 ADSL Router dropping off line

After having installed a new Server (Server 2003) and connecting 8 PC's via a wireless 3Com Access point, and having done all updates for the server, after a few weeks the Router dropped offline - a reset solved the problem. There were found to be no conflicts with the IP addresses of the server and the router - all well. A few days later, the same happens again, and again, and again. This is now an ongoing problem and has been for months. Can any IT Techies suggest a solution? Recently the Router has been dropping offline and without the need for a reboot, has infact 'onlined' itself. Still a problem though. Would a Router of this size/specs be ok for a small business running 8-9 pcs through the server/domain? Telstra Clear seem to think so as they installed it.

All hardware in the server room is connected to a UPS for what it is worth.

Talk to Dynalink as their support line is pretty good.
It may just need a firmware update.
It's definately the Dynalink ADSL router that is dropping off? i.e. the workstations can still access the server but not the internet?

Ta - yes, can talk to the server fine - just the outside world that drops offline - cheers
