Ive been asked to set up a Guest Book on a website, where those impressed or otherwise could leave comments, directly to the website, or to an out of view webpage on a site where comments could be, ah, edited, before placing to the intended Guest Book page.

Other than using a Form script (that would email direct to the site holder) is there a way a Form comments could be sent directly to the "hidden" webpage?

Thanks John in Mosgiel.

Hello there. I am pretty sure that (do a Google search) there are many out there that provide free guestbook posting / hosting - albeit one or two small banner. Most of them do not require you to have a knowledge of scripting or whatsoever programming. If that's what you are looking for?

Cheers :)

Because he is hosted with me, and I just changed my dns.

That was the notice about HostF1 being down for a while. Hopefully his site should be back in a few days.

I've just set up this one (http://www.vitinh.de/cgi-bin/download_guestbook.cgi?lang=en) - dead easy, no complicated scripting, very customisable and free. I used v.2.02.

Cheers.

I know this is an old thread, but Viper guestbook is now the past...

... so has anyone got another recommendation?

Cheers :)

Try http://www.phpbb.com/search/?q=guestbook

Depends of course on what your server supports.

Been using this free guestbook (http://www.vitinh.de/cgi-bin/download_guestbook.cgi?lang=en) for a while. Very easy to set up, no hoops to jump through, captcha anti-spam protection, control panel with full IP blocking and comment edit rights etc.

You can see it in action here (http://www.estherkamkar.com/cgi-bin/fpg.cgi?lang=english)

Cheers

Hi Greg and Braindead. It would be much preferred if you can suggest third-party based guestbook providers :)

You're a smart kid - look for something on Google.
