i have a new 200gb hard drive, installed Win XP pro as per usual but it only says i have a max capacity of 127gb. wheres the rest gone? i realise windows has a limit but surely 73gb just doesnt disappear! seagate st3200827A, any ideas how to get this valuable space back? i have converted the drive to dynamic but this shuldnt affect anything

You need to service pack the operating system to at least sp1. Then the o/s will recognise the full drive

Have you tried using Seagate DiskWizard?

I had a similar problem and downloaded DiskWizard and my drive showed the full drive size.

0.51 seconds on google then 25 seconds on the seagate website came up with this: http://www.seagate.com/support/kb/disc/faq/137_winxp.html
