Hi All.On a word page I have, on the ruler at the top, a start Tab at 0.5 & a finish Tab at 17.5. I wish to put an intermediate tab or a line down the page at 11.0. Does that make sense? I had a look at 'Format' & could not make it work. Thanks PJ

Just to clarify that a bit, perhaps like a spreadsheet. Maybe with two or three columns. I don't want to lose the existing information tho'. PJ

I don't think I am doing very well here. I have just had a look at Excel. That would do the job, even tho I will have to retype it all, I can live with that. But I would like the Excel Page to be in my original folder, with other stuff. Is that possible ? PJ

Have a look at this (http://office.microsoft.com/en-ca/assistance/HA011226861033.aspx).

Another option is to use a table to format your columns, then select the table cells/border line to be invisible.

Thanks Jen, all done. Started again & made a table as in your second option. PJ :D

Jen, a little bit more if you will. Please.
I now have a word doc, 5 columns wide, & 5 pages long.
The 4th column is 'Place' how do I sort all the Placenames Alphabetically. They are scatterred a bit. Thanks PJ

Click anywhere in the table, then go to the toolbar and select Table > Sort. Follow your nose from there. :)

Don't forget the undo button if it goes horribly wrong. :p
