After installing the video card into MSI K8N motherboard do you have to attach a six pin from the power supply to the video card. There is no mention of this in the install literature.
When we first booted up it reported as insufficient power to the card.
Dont want to fry a new card. Thanks

was a 6-pin lead provided with the card?

What is the make and model of the card, Feline ?

Seems odd that such an important step wouldn't be mentioned in the install guide.

Is your motherboard one of the new ones with a 24 pin ATX power supply, and if so have you connected up all 24 pins ?

The card is the nvidia MSI 7800GT 256mB PCI-e and the motherboard has the 24pin power already connected.
It just surprises me that the info provided from MSI has no mention at all that it needs power cable attached to the card. Maybe a F. Gump view as there is a six-pin connected on the vidoe card so assume it is all OK. We did mix up all the connectors from motherboard and video card when assembling.
Thanks for replies
