I have a picture in Power Point I would like to open in either ‘Picture It’ or Photo Deluxe’. Can it be done? If so how please.

Quick, dirty and ugly:

1) Just press "PrtScn" print screen.
2) Open your favourite graphics program
3) File...New. Edit...Paste

Quick, clean.

File - Save As - select .jpg in "Save as Type" window.

That converts each page of the PowerPoint presentation to a separate image file that can be opened in Picture It or Photo Deluxe

Sorry fellas but I Saved as 123.jpg, went to my programs and they would not recognise it. I had put it in a temp folder and when I hunted through PI and PD they showed the folder empty. I actually tried that before. What am I doing wrong???

Have a look at what the file was saved as ... look at the extension. If it's not ".jpg", the graphics programmes won't see it ; if it's, e.g., ".ppa.jpg" they will get quite upset and refuse to look at it.

Using Windows Explorer, can you actually see the file 123.jpg in the temporary folder where you saved it?

If you can and you double-click it, does it open the picture (in whatever your default image program is)?

Make sure you actually select the .jpg option in PowerPoint Save as Type, you cannot simply rename the file or it will still be a PowerPoint File.

There's the problem. It is still a Power Point file. Windows Explorer in XP Home comes up like My Computer and I do not know how to find the extentions to change them. It was easy with 98. What now please?
