I want to buy a new harddrive, In particular I was looking at the Maxtor 200GB SATA DiamondMax 10 (6L200M0).

The only problem I have is that I cannot determine if the drive supports SMART or not.

Can anyone confirm whether it does or doesn't?

see data sheet (http://maxtor.com/_files/maxtor/en_us/documentation/data_sheets/diamondmax_10_data_sheet.pdf)
On that data sheet it doesn't mention SMART but there is a logo saying SMART certified.

Read it and then buy the Seagate...

Because seagate are :yuck: and make me :badpc:

I guess SMART is too common to list as a feature, but I thought that some of the earlier SATA drives did not have SMART support??

Samsung drives are designed to be quiet, and the performance is pretty good.

I have 3 seagate drives in my pc and they are quiet, fast and reliable. With the 5 year waranty you can't lose.

One man's quiet is another man's loud. If I can hear it, it's loud.
