Hi all, well i am trying to get a Maxtor 120gbt in place of a Maxtor 40gbt into a Dell Dimension 2400. This machine does not have a FDD. I have gon thru all of the setup procedures, cleared the CMOS and even though the hdd is recognised as the 'Primary Drive' and the CD-ROM as the 'Secondary Drive' The damm thig keeps telling me F1 for Reboot or F2 for Setup. Can anyone relate to this problem and give me some guidance. The HDD has been formatted buy the seller.
Thanks in advance

"The disk has been formatted by the vendor." That doesn't mean that it will boot. It hasn't got an operating system to boot.

Use the F2 option; set up so the CDROM drive will be the boot device. Put in your Windows installation CD and follow the instructions.

Theres nothing to boot. Its empty.
You should be trying to boot the CD so you can then install windows ONTO the HDD.
