I have recently installed ubuntu 5.10 but im unable to update.

I am able to browse the web using firefox (I had to disable ipv6) but the 'apt -get' command fails. I am absolutely certain the repositories are correct. I have a broadband connection through a D-Link DSL-G604T router.

Can anyone help! Did anyone have a similar problem at the recent installfest?

Below is a copy of the errors i receive, etc/network/interfaces and etc/apt/sources scripts.

regards

Dele

The last few lines indicate that the access to the updates is "restricted". According to the error mesages, you "... Could not connect to security.ubuntu.com:80 (1.0.0.0), connection timed out" . That looks as if it's supposed to be the way to get permission to access the restricted stuff.

I suspect that the (1.0.0.0) is the IP address you were using to reach that site. I doubt very much that that is an IP address owned by the ubunto.com domain. ;)

the 5.10 section, source file does differ a little from yours

READ the bit under the 5.10 section as it mentions the gpg error thingie
