For those who haven't updated their Spybot Search & Destroy software in a while, there is a 1MB+ download available. It seems to pick up a few more cookies then previously plus there are quite a few additions to the immunisation list. If you have difficulty downloading the update, the best download site I've find is the Safer Networking #2 or it is available here. It is not so much SB keeping up to date but;
Anyone who has not updated regularly has been at risk.
If you do not update your virus protection or adaware for a couple
of months then there will be "A large update" too when
or if,you ever recover from the nasties.

This is a genuine 1MB download as far as I can see. I update my software every week.

I have just been to SB site and my app is up to date. There appears to be a problem here.
Are you positive yr download was from the genuine site ?
I will be interested in seeing other posts on this thread.
I think you may have explained the problem in that you had to go to another site to
download the "update"

I still find this strange.
Have contacted a few friends and they all say search for updates says all is
up to date
Have again checked for updates and told all is up to date.
Also tried on my partners laptop and got the same reply even tho she has not
updated for a couple of days.My "about" says SB s&d 1.3 updated 11-11-2005.
Any intelligent answers ?

I think you've answered your own question but you need version 1.4 - I think support for 1.3 stopped some time ago. You can get the genuine article from here. (http://www.safernetworking.org/)

Ziggakerly andrew93. I don't think he read my post carefully enough to notice we are running a later version.

Actually I made my post quoting v1.4 and the detection rules date after downloading and installing the latest detection rules, but prior to restarting Spybot. Now I have restarted it, it is showing 11.11.05.
