Ive created a family photo album, with a page for each member of the family, holidays etc... all in Frontpage.

There are two mpeg-videos included, one of family movies originally on Super8, the other a short 20 sec "Welcome" from the the oldest surviving family member.

I was ondering if there was a way I could get the "Welcome" mpeg to autoplay when the CD is inserted onto a PC, then when the mpeg had finished, switch to the Index page where users can click on a family member and check their photo life history.

Thanks..............John in Mosgiel.

I am not sure how you would do that unless you had an autorun application. What you could do is put the mpeg file embedded into the index.html file and then have either a javascript redirect that is timed to coincide with the finish of your movie or somehow have the page discover that the movie is finished and have it change the page. You would need to change your current index.html file to index2.html or somesuch.

An alternative is that you use an autorun program on the CD. I used to make CD's with a website on them and you can get a small program that autruns a certain file. With that in mind you could have the html file with the embedded media player file named as autorun.html or default.html.

I just quick found http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;818804 just to give an idea.

As a side note, I would try not using frontpage as much as possible as it may not display on other computers browsers very well. You may be interested in sites such as http://www.flickr.com

The easiest way would be, to use something like this

BUT it isnt free.

Or you could create an autorun.inf file (just use notepad to write it, then it needs to go into the main folder / root folder of the cd you're going to burn it to), with the commands needed to load the mpegs / and the html file.

This isnt that easy to do, unless u know what commands to use / what the commands are.

And whoever you give it to, once you've done this cd, would have to have something / a program to see the mpegs (I think). When you insert the cd.

Or you could search in google or yahoo, for autorun.inf programs. Some maybe free, BUT maybe too basic. They wont have all the options you need.
