I want to make a backup copy of my XP CD. Can I simply copy the contents to hard drive and burn directly to a blank CD?

Thx.

perhaps not legal here in nz It's fine - just checked the EULA and it's permissable to make a single backup copy.

Try using a program like Nero or K3b to copy the CD without hassles.
OR you can use a third party program like Nlite (www.nliteos.com) bundled with RyanVM's Post SP2 Updates (http://ryanvm.msfn.org/updatepack.html) to get your copy of Windows up to date before you make the CD.

Greg, I think it has something to do with the cd autostarting when you load the copy .
If you do it the "copy to hard drive then burn way" it wont auto run. There, just repeated myself!
