Can anyone tell me how to find out where the model is on a hp motherboard. Thanks devon2

Sometimes its not on it.

But if you post the exact HP model here we could probably help.

So could Google, simply by searching you will get sites such as this. Scroll down and see if what you want is there.

Give Everest Home Edition a go, and see if that will unearth any clues.

there should be a series of numbers on the motherboard. google them and you will get answers. but everest will be easier.

The BIOS might know ... :D

Quite often "proprietary" computers have a page called something like "System Information" in their BIOS setup.

I have successfully used this site: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145088

to get that information...it will scan your system and tell you what mobo and version of bios you are running as well as advise for RAM additions.
