A quick google showed the majority view thought they were rubbish.I don't dispute that, but it's interesting that so many people regard Ascent as being a quality NZ supplier, yet this PC I've acquired ex them has a PowerMax PSU in it.

Explain please? You bought a PC from them, or you acquired an old one that they used to use inhouse?

Explain please? You bought a PC from them, or you acquired an old one that they used to use inhouse?I got it secondhand. It's nearly new though. I'm selling it and a bunch of others on behalf of an associate who acquired them from a business that closed down. They paid 300 bucks for a mix of 13 PC's and a few Macs.

I regard them as a "good service" shop. They also sell everything - from quality stuff to rubbish. The difference is they will honour the warranties on it all as opposed to some other shops that also sell rubbish. And they do have the good stuff as well...

Talking about PSU's I bought a DSE 400w one yesterday and have to take it back as both fans on it are sucking in air.

Was the fan at the back not mounted as shown in the DSE pic with the label facing out?

The label was facing out. Got a second one and it was the same both fans sucking in air. Got a refund. Could of been easily fixed as the case was held together with screws not rivets or spot weilded. Just undo the case and change wires around.

If the wires were wrong what else was put in backwards? The fan blades are usually shaped to work best moving air in the direction of the label/support frame.
