Hi
I have noticed that when my computer is on for long time (as in 15-20 hrs) & i shutdown or re-start then when it says "windows is shutting down" it hangs i left it on for 10 min and its still like that.

My new computer-->>
* INTEL PENTIUM D 3.2GHZ 2X1MB 840 DUAL CORE
* MSI 945P PLATINUM INTEL 945P SKT775 DDR2 DUAL CORE
* 2 x GEIL 512MB PC4300 DDR2
* SEAGATE 200GB 8MB SATA HDD
* Pioneer DVR-110 16x DL
* TASK PSU 520W 34A
* POWERCOLOR ATI RADEON X800GT 256MB PCI-E DUAL DVI
* Running 32bit edition of Windows XP PRO + SP1A
* DirectX 9.0C
* AVG Antivirus Free edition
* Sygate Pro 5.5.

There are lots of tweaks on this issue but i do not know which is rite for me. coz tweaks do really screw ur windows up.

Bring up Taskmanager when you shutdown to see what is running .
A good site with a lot of info is here.

Also you can try going into [Start] then [RUN] and type in "msconfig". Click on the "startup" tab. It shows what starts up when your computer starts. Check to see if there's anything there that looks 'dodgy' and doesn't need to run. This might also help.

The other question is, any ideas what has 'changed' before this problem started?

Cheers
