my Canon BJC-2000SP's printer head is a bit stuffed
it leaves black horizontal lines on every line it prints
lucky for this printer the printer head can be replaced
but at dse..it costs $108

saw CANON PIXMA iP2000 Colour Printer on special at dse (XP0166)
now this printer is from end of last year i think
and it's cartridge is split into black and the rest just like my old canon printer
and the colour part is cheaper too compared to 2000SP

now i've read some reviews around the net and i'm happy about the new printer

now.. just want to make sure one last thing before i rush off to dse..

the iP2000's printer head can't be replaced like how 2000SP's can
so if i run into the same problem in the future of printer head stuffing up
then i can't replace it as easily

can this happen easily?? i've bought proper canon made cartridges for my old printer and the printer head still got blocked..
and my old old epson printer also died the same way

would be nice to hear some other people's review on iP2000 if anyone bought one~thanx

The 2000SP is quite a good little printer. I nearly suggested that you use a BC20 for black, because that's got its own head, but that's nearly the price of the new printer. A refill costs about $15, for a lot more ink than there is in the wee ones used in the black/colour BS21e combination.

The iP2000 looks OK ... and certainly cheaper than a print head. It look as if that's the way of things. Spare parts cost more than a replacement complete unit. :(

yes the 2000sp was good printer
can't go just with black though
otherwise would've went for lazer..still need colour

now if only i can find a place that sells iP2000's printer head then i'll go to dse..
or is there certain parts or accessories that you can only buy directly from canon?

Retailers don't like stocking things which don't move. Printer heads which cost more than a replacement printer don't move. If your local DSE have a head in stock, ask them how long they've had it, and how much they will accept for it. :D
