Hi,
Looking for an internal black dual layer dvd writer...
Is dvd ram a new or old technology and should i get one with it?

Seeing as all the prices are so low now, it's hard to know what to look for when choosing (for me at least). Any hints? Price is not too important, but want quality and speed...
thanx ;)

Forget DVD-Ram.

There aren't too many dvd players that can read or play it.

Besides the burner itself.

I use this

http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=6&l2=35&l3=0&model=415&modelmenu=1

And this

http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=6&l2=35&l3=0&model=10&modelmenu=1

Never had a prob with either.

And both come in black or white.

I have had the Asus DRW-1608P for about 4 months and works fine. NZ PC World reviewed 9 DVD writers in there Sept. issue and rated the Asus no. 1.

The LiteOn LTLDW1693 drives come with both a beige and black front bezel so you can swap it whenever you please.
They are one of the better drives to get.
