View Full Version : Adding the partial subtitles from a DVD

I want to add some 'partial' subtitles to an AVI file. Its an XviD file and I have the origional DVD to go with it. The DVD is in English, but there are one or two parts where its in a foreign language and there should be english subtitles to help the dialog flow.

Are there any free programs out there which can assist?

I believe Nero Recode does this, but you cant just "Add" them, you have to re-encode everything from the source. You're then also limited to just using NeroShowtime for playback if you want the subtitles, and Im not a big fan of it :-/

AFAIK AutoGK can do _some_ subtitle work.

Hope this helps

Sadly they dont show up in any 3rd party application though. Considering Im not going to be using (hopefully) an Xbox, Im really hoping that there's something that'll do that but in a more standard way... IYKWIM

Still not much luck.

Any chance somebody can recommend how to suck the Subtitles off a DVD then? Not _all_ the subtitles, just the 'partial' subtitles.
