I have a MSI 64MB Geforce2 AGP 4x card in my computer. When I first installed the official Nvidia drivers (around version 66.x) they worked fine and really helped speed the performance of the card. However, whenever I have tried to upgrade to a newer version of the drivers I've always ended up with problems. The installation goes fine but after rebooting my computer I end up with a 640x480 resolution, 4 colour 60Hz display. Whenever I try to change any of the settings nothing seems to happen (after clicking the OK button the sliders and drop down boxes are on the same option). In the end I just have to rollback the drivers to the same version I've had for as long as I can remember now. Someone please help!

I guess you got the right Windows version driver?
Then just use the older one if it works. You don't have to update the driver if you're weren't having any problems with the current one...
