I tried to play Cabela`s BGH 2005 got the intro and then a red and green window saying:
Attention
94K /143Hz
Frequency is out of range
What is it referring to?

That's a new one to me, too.

But I think I can confidently guess that this is your monitor complaining that it is being driven too fast. Instead of running off the road at the next corner or, more tamely, emitting snoke and electronic screams as it dies, it is just telling you about it, while ignoring the fast signals.

Does the game have extreme minimum hardware requirements?

Message seems to refer to the capabilities of your monitor. One cure was to change from an LCD monitor to a CRT. Another is to change the screen resolution at start.

Here's an extract from another forum - hope it helps you -

When I start my computer a splash screen appears briefly with the message-27K/61HZ Frequency out of range. Its a 1.7ghz celeron, 256 MB ram upgrade box
I recently purchased & installed Win 98SE on.
What does this mean?
And if its a problem how do I fix it?
Any advice would be appreciated.

The message is not from your PC, its actually your monitor telling you that the frequency (scan rate or refresh rate) that your graphics card is initialising at is out of the range that your monitor can display.

When windows initialises the Graphics card with the drivers and settings that you use (and that your monitor can display) then the message goes away.

What can you do about it? Possibly nothing.
Try updating your video drivers but don't hope for much, as its the mode of your video card before it sees the drivers that is the problem I am guessing.

As its telling you the rate, can you tell us what the accepted rates are for your monitor? Or tell us what monitor you have got?

Its a Philips 190S
Just looking thru the hand book i cant find any info about refresh rates except to increase to 70Hz or higher if picture is unstable (its not).
Thanks for the help.

30-92kHz(h) 56-160kHz (v)

so the horizontal scan at kick-off is too low. (27 kHZ)

Means resolution is probably 640 x 480 at start

Good luck

It means the game has a resolution set higher than the monitor can cope with.
For instance my old monitor couldn't do 1600x1200 as I discovered one day when I set HL2 to play at that. Similar message.....

BGH?...Big game hunter?

Budget game made for $1 and sold for $2.More likely its trying to drive the screen at a lower res or refresh then it can handle.

I would bin the game.
