I have just reformated a home computer and put on Windows XP.
Unfortunatly XP threatens to shut down in 30 days if I do not register over the internet.

Firstly my modem driver is not working and secondly I do not wish to have this home computer to have access the internet it is strictly a home computer (mostly for my sons games)!

Does anyone know how I can stop windows XP from shutting down in 30 days without having to connect to the internet to register?

It'll also give you a phone number which you can ring Mikeysoft to register over the phone

It's not the registration that'll lock u out,

Its the activation, which has to be done, within 30 days. Bring the activation screen up, and select the phone option and ring MS for the # to activate it.

Is there no way around having to do this?

Didn't you read what Speedy said? It is illegal and illegal activities are not permitted to be discussed on the forum so don't ask!
