I have just invested in four CD's full of addon Scenery. I have downloaded most of it but I still have two files on each disk that I don't know what to do with. One is called "Images" and is full of bmp files and the other is called "Resources".

Can someone tell me what to do with them?

I suppose that means you don't know.

The images one is just sample images to show you what the scenery looks like, and as for the resources, not to sure what that dose but I don't think you need it either, but Jack I think you well get more info by going to a Flight Sim Forum like one at www.avsim.com or www.flightsim.com

Thanks Trev. In Spite of Foxy's remark I have been to both those forums but I usually get better results from this one.

You know, If you allowed avaters but not remotly stored images there is no way anyone could abuse the system or post anything that was outside any guidelines.

Well they could - for a time, if they upload an avatar for example. Not dismissing it, honest, but I also don't make policy on that.

Yes I've seen those. Is a 20M Mesh worth $80??? What's your opinion?

BTW. I prefer your new picture.

uh....How could they upload an avatar?

The CP for the forum should have a default folder with people only able to select from those on offer(forum should have a default set) and perhaps allow users with a set amount of posts (lets say at least 2,154 :help: ) to upload their own.....

No biggie though, Im just seething with jealosy over a petty issue.

Muhahahahahaha.

Well I paid for the old 40m mesh, and I have the new 20m and really am enjoying it but I'd say you should try the free 75m and see how you like it. I want as much detail as possible, so for me it's worth it.

One problem though is that the new mesh is much more accurae than the old one (they used all new data). As such it is not compatible with many current add-on scenery for NZ because airports etc were designed to be compatible with the old 150/40m mesh. In the new one, some of these sceneries will result in airports being in slightly the wrong place. Hopefully designers will update these for the new mesh.
The new Auckland scenery from Robin Corn will be compatoble with the new mesh.

VBulletin let;s you:

1] choose from a collection
2] link to your own one on another server
3] upload one from your hard drive to the server, where it is stored.

I'm not sure how much power - other than turning the avatar feature on/off for user groups - we have for fine tuning how they work.

I know, it would be a lot more fun to allow them, and even though it isn't my call, we haven't ruled it out forever.

Trev, that's the same secenry I'm using but you can now buy it from Geographx (link I posted above) for less money. They'll send the 20m to you on a CD, or let you downlaod the 40m via FTP.

Also, Christian Stock, who is the creator of both these new meshes and the old once they replace, is also working on a project to fix coastlines and river and lake levels through NZ. Looking for a release later this year (Sept, maybe).
