I'm looking for content scanning software to scan PC's on my local area network for content like images, movies, music, browser history. If the tool that would analyse skin tones in images would be good too. I'd like a tool that can be installed on one computer rather than installing on each PC.

Anyone got any ideas?

regards

henare.

not exactly what you're after, but google desktop search and a few of the add-ons would probably do it for you.

theres also a few .reg hacks to get it toscan network mounted drives too. :)

Thanks Dave. Actually found a tool called Snitch from Hyperdyne systems which seems to do what I want. They have a trial version but wil only scan local drives.

To be scanned, there need to be SMB shares or the likes, and from there a simple Windows search will suffice.

I fail to see what DC++ will do... Unless you run your own hub and get each PC to connect.
Otherwise, you're going to need a 'client' app of some sort installed on each PC.

You could get in to things like back orifice, but you're on your own should you choose to.

Chill.
