I've just updated and run adaware and noticed that it was the same result as yesterday, so looked at the list properly of what it found...and did a screenshot...then deleted the spyware....
rebooted computer....did another run of it...exactly same results? its as if the spyware hasnt been deleted...

the results are showing....
aurora malware in Vendor:VX2
Category:Malware
Object Type:Regkey
Size:1001 Bytes
Location:...\software\aurora\
Last Activity:23-05-2005
Risk Level:Low
TAC index:10
Comment:
Description:Malware. Causes Popups and may install unsolicited software.

and its really annoying....can i go in registry via regedit and remove it from there? or is there some alternative way? as adaware for some unknown reason wont remove it...its the latest version with latest updates...same with nortons....

Plz help :) Thanks heaps

You can remove the entries in the registry, if u know what to delete.

Or post a hijackthis log back here. You may have other spyware/malware on your system.

What version of Adaware have u got?? 1.05??

Download hijackthis make a folder called hjt unzip the hijackjack zip file into it, then click on scan and copy and paste a log here.

Go to this page (http://www.mypctuneup.com/evaluate.php) and follow the instructions to download, install and run the Aurora uninstaller program.

After that go here (http://home9.inet.tele.dk/le01/Sikkerhed.htm) and get ABIremover.zip. Extract it and run ABIremover.exe

Rescan with Adaware, fixing everything it says. Make sure you check for updates first.

Next download, install and run these:
SpyBot V1.4 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2471.html
MS AntiSpy - http://download.microsoft.com/downl...wareInstall.exe (if Windows XP and W2K only)

Ensure that you check each for their definition updates and fix anything they say.

After doing the above reboot then run HijackThis and post your log in this thread. DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YOURSELF YET.

Anyone else noticed that little "extra" option in the later builds of Hijack that automaticlly delete everything?

Great fun, I tried it on for size......

Then what happened? :D

...er...then I had to fix the resulting damage.

I started to do it manually, got the squirts with that after a few minutes and threw the Winsock fix app at it, she was all rosy within a couple of seconds.

Meh, Not much of a "then what happened", Just seeing if anyone else was silly enough to select the delete everything option.....
