Hi!

I'm still a newbie to the forum, but I've always wanted to ask a question regarding business broadband plans.

How can businesses survive on 256kbps/128kbps???? If there's a staff of 10, and assuming they don't abuse the business connection for downloading their music and videos, it would be barely enough to send/receive emails! Let alone do any "data-heavy" work, like sending architectural drawings, etc....

256/128kbps divided by 10 users ~~ 25kbps/12kbps per user! It seems ridiculous to me.

Perhaps explain why you think a business with 10 users would opt for a 256 kb connection, when "full speed" is also available?

There are about 8 plans that are full speed, vs 4 plans at 256.

It is unlikely for all users to be accessing the internet at once. I agree though, those plans would work for small businesses, larger businesses find higher speed, higher cap plans.

I'm sorry I neglected to mention it, but I was referring to bitstream business plans.

For ihug, iconz, slingshot, orcon, they ALL offer 256/128kbps plans only.

And as for telecom, the cheapest business full speed plan is the Jetstream 600. It costs $61.33 (and excluding ISP charges as well) for 600mb ONLY!

So, either I have a painfully slow 256/128kbps business bitstream plan for my employees at $99, or I can cause my company to go into bankruptcy in a few months, with a full speed 10gb cap plan, paying $888 a month (and still excluding ISP charges.

How are businesses supposed to survive here???? No wonder the good companies leave!
