Hi all,
Good morning. I had installed the windows 98, windows XP operating system in my system. I could not able to enter in 98, XP. I got the error "some system files missing". So I tried to to format the drive C, D and again install the Windows 98. I could able to format the drive C. But I could not able to format the drive D. What is the problem ? I got the error from scan disk. Error is "bad sector is infected in this drive". How to remove this bad sector? What should i do? Pls Can Any one help me?

Thanks in advance..

Get a disk testing utility from the drive manufacturers website, one that you make into a boot disk (CD or floppy), and run that to check the drive. It should be able to flag the sectors as bad so the disk will not store data there.

While bad sectors are not uncommon on a hard drive, it is quite likely that the errors could signal a dying drive. If the disk utility picks up more that few bad sectors, start thinking about getting a replacement drive and backing up your important data.
