That first site seems to give a good result:

Your current bandwidth reading is: 1.96 Mbps which means you can download at 250.38 KB/sec. from our servers.

From the Jetstream Games site:

Your line speed is approximately 2008.9 Kbps or 246.2 K bytes/sec
( Where kb = kilobits and kB = kiloBytes )

From the other link, ( http://www.broadbandreports.com/stest ) using the LA site:

Yours 520 down
271 up

From Seattle:

Yours 1240 down
184 up

This is a 2 meg adsl conn. Xtra chokes on International traffic doesn't it?!

I got this :
Your current bandwidth reading is:

505.90kbps

which means you can download at 63.24 KB/sec. from our servers

But I'm on cable, and I have just pulled in a 7 meg file at 240 KB, so my reading is odd !! I was about to get onto Telstra for a speed check, but maybe not.

One day Telecom might listen to its customers.....but for now we just have to sit and wait for good internet :-( Thus far Im not complaining. I only applied for adsl Sunday 12th June, it was online by Wednesday (they originally told me Thurs :))

Hello Plod.
First run 269.75
5 mins later 185.8
1 min later 223.8

Seems heavily dependent on circuit loading.
Cheers Tony

Ha! I tried it with my Austin A 40 dial up and got tired of waiting. Is this just for broadband? Usually connect at around 28 - 32 Kbps.

Hey I'm slooooow. :yuck:

Hello again Plod. Just realised that the site is reporting in Kbs. But on my Telstra cable I regularly get 240+ KBs from US sites, so the figs must be suspect.
(Edit)Since writing the above, I have just pulled in 7.8 megs at 244.0 KBs.

Hell I paid for a 2Mb connection :angry :badpc:

I think it should be a minium of 2Mb, just like everything else.

Petrol has to be at least 91 octain for 91, and at least 96 octain for 96

Milk has to have at least 2L in a 2L bottle

Butter has to weigh at least 500g

How do they get away with advertising 2Mb and delivering upto and not at least.

I think we are been taken for fools.
