Hi! I was just wondering if you'll be helpful for this:
I was happily downloading Service Pack for Visual Basic and it loaded. But then, it came with this message.
"The Win16 Subsystem was unable to enter Protected Mode, DOSX.EXE must be in your AUTOEXEC.NT and present in your path.
I've checked AUTOEXEC.NT and it's fine (has DOSX.EXE in it), and checked my path (C:\Windows\System32\), and I copied AUTOEXEC.NT from the "Repair" directory too. Anyone??

Thanks, but no thanks. I'm using Windows XP (but I'll give your hint a shot!).

As well as coping from the repair directory you need to write protect it according to Microsoft, as sp2 loves has a glitch in it that loves to delete this file as do some virus's and spyware (sp2.......... spyware, now theres a thought :D)
scan your machine for those nasties as well as write protecting the autoexec.nt

Well theres only 3 of these errors on the MS site. One I posted, and one for NT and 2000.. Nothing for XP.
