Hi I recently tried to update my BIOS on my ASUS P4P800 SE Motherboard using an ASUS BIOS update program in windows. As it was flashing and erasing the BIOS windows crashed. I don't know why windows crashed but when I restarted my computer, all the power lights, and CPU fan came on, but that was it. Nothing else happened at all.
I tried searching on a number of different sites who pretty much said the same thing, new bios chip, or new motherboard. Does any one else have any other suggestions?

P4 2.8c CPU
Asus P4P800se Motherboard
Ati Radeon 9800 se Graphic card
40g Segate Harddrive
Windows Xp Home

NEVER update a BIOS in Windows, even if there's a windows program to update it with.

You MAYBE lucky, as this mobo supports Crashfree BIOS 2.

Put the BIOS update (which should be on the mobo cd), if u have it into the cd.

Did u copy the BIOS update to a floppy??

If u only have the cd, chuck it in the cdrom. Let it boot. See what happens.

It should find a file off the CD called P4P800SE.ROM. If it finds it, it SHOULD reflash it to the original BIOS it came with. DON'T touch anything until it tells u to reboot (If it manages to find the BIOS on the CD).

I agree, flashing in windows is very risky
