I've received an email that is possbly genuine but is from an unknown source
It's such a long time since a suspect email slipped through my antispam barriers etc that I've forgotten how to isolate and open it without causing any damage
Any clues please?

I'm using outlook express

With the suspect email highlighted, File menu > Properties > Message Source. Depending if and what payload the enmail has, even doing this can activate malware. Have you scanned the email with an up to date antivirus app'? The best option re unsolicited email is as Speedy says, delete it.

Yes I scanned the email again with my NAV antivirus, and for good measure did a full NAV scam, a deep adaware scan and topped it up with Spybot!

Then I deleted it, didn't risk trying the Properties> message source just in case it activated something

Many thanks
