hey my pc has started messing up lately and i downloaded zonealarm the free version and keep gettin this "the firewall has blocked internet access to your computer (UDP Port 6348) from CableLink 39-253.INTERCABLE.net (207.248.38.253) (UDP Port 50837)" does this mean a hacker?

go to the alerts/log tab and turn the alerts off.

there can be lots of reasons for the alerts, a lot of it is just misdirected traffic, others can be worms searching. a true hack attempt is fairly rare.

the odds are this alert is just missdirected traffic, ignore it.

yeah that can be normal. i get hundreds of alerts even on a very slow dailup connection.

you mentioned before your pc had "started messing up lately".
what has it being doing?

what programs have tried to access the net from your pc?

are you posting useing the pc right now?

that means your browser must also be able to access the net.

also what OS are you useing and do you have details of the bluescreen error messages?

the first firewall I ever tried was zonealarm - gave me bluscreen errors like you wouldn't belive, though I can't remember what the exact error was.

Got rid of it and later got Norton personal firewall 2003, which works great.
