Would a usb tv tuner be powerful enough to give better reception than a normal tv with a antenna on top?Not those antenna we have on top of our roof.Just the small stand tv tuner ones where you can find it at dicksmiths.

I was just wondering.A guy in our hostel have a tv tuner for his tv and has a bit of trouble receiving signals however with my other mate's room he took his antenna over to his room and it worked perfect.Would a usb tv tuner give very good quality?

Both of them will use the same arial connecton you would use to get your tv reception.
The usb tuner is so that you can use your computer monitor to view the tv reception thru it. I've seen a monitor being used to watch tv using one of those usb tuners and it worked well.
You have to remember though your receptions only going to be as good as the tv reception you get in your area.
Hope this helps, Lazydog

Indoor aerials are hit-and miss, may be better in one room than another.

Generally, a TV card (or USB tuner) needs a real outside aerial, they tend to need a better signal than a real TV does.
