Hi All,
Just wanting to know what the current CPU temps are out there at present? All this hot weather has got mine sweating.

I have a Athlon 64 3200+, not overclocked, and its running 48 idle and 58-60 under load.
I noticed on the AMD website that they say the max temp for the CPU is 70.

Motherboard is MSI k8 Neo2 (Nforce 3 250Gb)
3 HDD, 2 ROMS, 1 Radeon 9800Pro

Whats your CPU and temp?

Intel P4 3 Hz Idle at about 49 under load up to around 60
Got the side of the case off (alas air flow seems to be poor despite some good fans).

I've heard reports of PSUs, HDD and motherboards giving up under the heat of last 2 weeks or so. Luckily I've been off work on a break

For a real test take your PC to Alexandra (although the last thing I feel like doing is using a computer whne it gets that hot).

You seriously don't want temps above 60 for a long period in my opinion - it would indicate poor thermal compound application or fan problem.

My Athlon XP 2600+ is running at 44C, reaching ~55C under full load

In winter it idles at 33C and gets to ~48C full

Though I have no idea if these temps are accuarate, my computer has not frozen or restarted....

Intel P4 3.2Ghz. 50degrees idle. Up to 75degrees under full load playing Counter Strike and encoding MPEGS. No worries here. Humming.

No, nothing to worry about with any of those temperatures.

XP 1800+ 44 idle at mid 20's ambient. Doesn't budge much above that for my normal usage.

P4 3Ghz 42deg on idle and 58 max when on full load. At least it has been a bit cooler today and we are getting some much needed rain. :)

My AMD cpu is so cold the interior of my case seems to have slipped through the very fabic of the universe and now inhabits the void, Ice is forming on the outside of my case....the air smells like oil and Jenny Shiply armpits.

My....God....what is.......happening.......Flesh crawling.........skin changing into scales......Vision blurred......strange colours.........

Might lay off the cheese I think.

Room Temp 26 C, Athlon 1600 idle 49 C
Go buy yourself a 9" desk fan for around $30, it will keep both you and your computer cool when all doors and windows are open to get a through flow

what software are you guys using to measure your temps, i have used easy tune 4 and mbm 5, but mbm 5 is very dodgy and inaccurate. Says my athlon 64 3000+ running 512mb ram, 120gb ata133 hdd, and radeon 9600xt is at 54'c, case at 25'c, i would have thought it would have been lower, oh well

It is as accurate as the sensor on the chip (which are usually not that accurate). The case sensors are usually not hooked up to anything at all. My GEForce card does have a sensor for both the chip temp and ambient temp but I have not looked at that for a while but amibient temps are what push the CPU temps up greatly.

Only real way to check is to get a real accurate probe and stick it onto the CPU chip.

I use SpeedFan: http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

But as the previous poster said, it's only as accurate as the Temperature sensor.
