I've installed AVG7 on my laptop which doesn't get used on the Internet, and can't find on Grisoft's site where to download updates manually so I can transfer them to the laptop.

I used to be able to do this for AVG 6.

Any ideas plz?

Thx

All of this info is on the AVG Free forum.

Try Majorgeeks.com. I believe they have the signature files for AVG as a stand alone download, There was a post in the forum last week along simular lines to this and someone gave the URL to majorgeeks.

Greg, In addition to PaulD and beama, you can also get all the updates from

http://guru.grisoft.com/softw/70free/ in the \update directory see also the \doc and \setup directories as you wish.

There is this page here that has a couple of links to get the updates manually also.

if you have AVG on your other pc you can simply copy the updates out of the updates folder (like avg6 but different location).

That would be ideal, but can't find the folder anywhere.

Anyway thanks to the others.

try something like
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Grisoft\Avg7Data

or

C:\WINDOWS\All Users\Application Data\Grisoft\Avg7Data\upd7bin

depending on OS of course.

just to add .....the update at majorgeeks is ok provided your avg has all of the previous updates. if your's is behind a bit its best to download the updates off the grisoft website as there are different updates depending on how old your ver is.

You should see some files that end in .bin ( these are the update files ).

In XP, go here...

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Grisoft\Avg7Data\upd7bin

Thx Phoenix. Couldn't find it at first and no wonder... I had hidden files hidden :@@:

ps... Question; can those update files be deleted safely?
