After boot up an error message stating....
"Error loading C:/Windows/System32/Bridge.dll"
Module cannot be found.

Any ideas as to why this is now playing up and how to get rid of it?

Sounds like Adware.WinFavorites - adware/spyware. Have you run AdAware or Spybot recently? Do that first, and see how you go.

Thanks for that - I actually ran Adaware only about a week ago - and it found all sorts of anomilies - so maybe thats what caused it - will run it again and see what happens

Johnboy - thanks for that - it seems to have fixed a few things - and all the reg entries were there so that certainly was a problem.
One small problem now is how to speed up startup - after you log into XP it can take up to 5 minutes before anything other than my wallpaper, comes up onto the desktop - any ideas?

yep you need a little app called bootvis it's a microsoft app and you can find it with just a little googleing.......... run it and clik the trace menu item then optimise. also before you do that .........clik startbutton/run and tpye in msconfig then tap enter .......goto the startup tab and Untick anyting you think i'sn't necessary at startup.....for example 'office find fast' and 'works calander reminder' and 'quicktime' and any other junk that loads in the background and does nothing for you cept slow down the boot up..........after that run bootvis......

ah there you go Im very nice and have found you a page to download bootvis
